QUALIFICATIONS;
Preferably graduated from Computer / Electrical / Electronics Engineering
5+ years Senior level Unix Administration experience is essential
Analytical thinking, team worker
Quick learner about new technologies, solution oriented
A mix of RedHat Linux, Oracle Solaris and HP-UX, and AIX experience
Knowledge in high-availability and clustering technologies, file system and volume operations
Unix shell scripting is preferred
Storage and networking knowledge is preferred
Fluent in English
Experience with high-availability and clustering technologies, file system and volume operations (Veritas CFS, HP Serviceguard, Oracle Solaris) will be highly regarded
Certification in RedHat Linux is highly desirable, but not a prerequisite
Experience working in large complex Enterprise environments
Sound knowledge of related infrastructure and architecture
Sound problem identification and resolution skills
Solid change management process and compliance experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and personal presentation
Proven experience in day to day service delivery and project activities
Knowledge of SAN storage connectivity to UNIX hosts (Preferred)

RESPONSIBILITIES;
To maintain and operate the Unix infrastructure including upgrades and security patches
To prepare system backup and recovery configurations for the Unix infrastructure, implementing disaster recovery procedures
Responsible for configuring, implementing and troubleshooting any issues for the Unix infrastructure that include Operating System, Cluster, Volume Manager and Virtualization software
Managing and supporting a mixed environment of Unix systems. (HP, Oracle, IBM)
Performs troubleshooting, incident and error handling for systems
Maintain operational readiness ensuring complete recovery in the event of a disaster. Attend DR tests regularly, as outlined in the company policies and procedures to ensure DR functionality. Update the policies and procedures as required
Implementing change management processes and user requests on systems
Evaluation of new versions, patches, firmwares and security patches. Implementing upgrades and security patches regularly
Implementing security policies on servers according to the best practices and company procedures Senior Unix Specialist is responsible for installation, configuration, performance monitoring, maintaining and administrating of Solaris, HP-UX, Red Hat, IBM AIX Operating Systems.
Responsible to implement and create policies and procedures that are related to Unix Administration
Responsible for supporting users, operators on their day to day work – flexible working hours.
Knowhow of high availability solutions, disaster recovery technologies and integration methodologies
To give support and coperate with other IT infrasturcture units when it comes to system integration
Periodic monitoring of systems, performance tuning
